We have decided to cancel this summer's CAS Kids session, as we are cautious to put our community at risk. CAS Kids free drop-in arts classes are a tremendous point of pride, and we will miss our new and returning students. This summer we have extended our online arts education with 15 new segments from leaders in their respective fields. Artist-educator Robyn Almquist and Livingston Manor lower school art teacher Angelina Coriano have developed interactive art tutorials for families using found household objects. While food writer Catie Schwalb is developing cooking lessons for children to explore the culinary arts. We will be screening new segments each week, so stay tuned for our next release.
Made possible with the support of Fullen-Smith Foundation, Lazare and Charlotte Kaplan, Thalia and George Liberatos Foundation and Robyn Gerry.

A rainstick is a long, hollow tube partially filled with small pebbles or beans that has small pins or thorns arranged on its inside surface. When the stick is upended, the pebbles fall to the other end of the tube, making a sound reminiscent of rain falling. The rainstick is believed to have been invented by the Mapuches and was played in the belief it could bring about rainstorms. Make your own with a roll of paper towel and some rice!
